Enggano Island is one of the outer islands in Indonesia, it is administratively located in North Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province. The island with an area of 40 square km zone is located in the Indian Ocean waters at the position between BT and 102.05 5.17 o to 5.31 o o LS. As a separate district, administratively Enggano consists of three small islands, namely: Two Island, Carcass Island, and Island Merbau. Enggano divided into six sub-districts, namely Village Kahyapu Village, Village kaana, Malakoni Village, Village Apoho, Meok Village, and the village of Banjar Sari. The number of people on this island about 3,000 people (2002), which spread over six villages.

The island is mostly populated livelihood as fishermen and farmers of oil palm is ecologically very rich in natural resources, both contained in the land and in sea waters. However, ecosystems of Enggano is very vulnerable to damage, because the structure of the island is composed of rocks with a thickness of the surface soil is very thin, only 1-2 meters.

The island of Enggano is located in District Enggano, North Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. Of Bengkulu, the time required to reach the island of Enggano is approximately 12 hours using the sea route. However, travel by ferry boat to the island of Enggano does not take place every day, because weather conditions are often unstable. In one week, a trip to the island of Enggano only twice, and even then often can not be ascertained day, due to factors such unstable weather. Vice versa, the reverse flow of Enggano trip to Bengkulu also occurs twice in a week, certainly with the same condition, can schedule alternate days because of depending on weather conditions.
